Struggling through

an empty crowd

on worker’s street.

Pushing for the moment

when you remember why.

  1. Great tiny poem. A scene, an active body and a thought which summarises both. Elegant minimalism.

  2. Interesting stuff. Empty crowd is great – gets you thinking. Not quite sure what this one is about though – got some ideas.

    • I was at work late the other day, had to push through a crowd and I was thinking ‘what am I doing here, I should be home with my family,’ but as I’ve written in earlier poems I trade hours to support my family… It’s a catch-22

      • Ah ha! Just got the empty crowd (was on another track) – fantastic as it could mean a number of things (and that is always a good thing in poetry). Life is generally a catch-22 – more’s the pity.

  3. Sharp, clear, snapshot–> of a feeling/place/reason. Skillfully done.
